How to Turn Match Notes Into a Training Plan
Notes taken during a match are only useful if they turn into a specific training priority. Here's the bridge most staffs skip.
Notes without a next step don't help anyone
Most coaching staffs already take notes during a match, on a phone, on paper, in a group chat right after the final whistle. The step that's usually missing is turning those notes into one specific, plannable training priority before the next session, rather than a general sense of "we need to be better defensively."
A simple bridge from notes to plan
Start by picking the single highest-impact issue from the match, not the longest list of small complaints. Attach a concrete cause to it, not "we defended poorly" but "the back line stepped up without cover during transitions in the second half." Then translate that cause directly into a training focus: a specific shape, a specific rep, a specific unit, not a vague theme for the whole session.
This is a small discipline, but it's the difference between training reacting to a feeling and training reacting to a diagnosis.
Where this is built into the workflow
Every Tactmark report ends with a specific training focus line, generated directly from the decisive moments, mistake attribution, and pattern findings for that match, so the bridge from notes to plan happens automatically as part of generating the report.
