What a Full Season of Reports Tells You That One Match Cannot
A single match report is useful. A full season of them, viewed together, tells a genuinely different and more valuable story.
One match is a snapshot, a season is a trend
A single match report tells you what happened in that specific game. It cannot tell you whether a mistake was a one-off or a pattern, whether a player's dip is temporary or a genuine decline, or whether a coaching decision that worked once is a reliable approach or a lucky outcome. Only a season viewed together can answer those questions honestly.
This is the fundamental limitation of reviewing matches one at a time without ever stepping back to look at the full body of reports together.
Why this needs to be automatic, not a manual exercise
Manually rereading a season's worth of reports to check for patterns is a real time investment few coaching staffs can sustain consistently, which is why most recurring issues, in practice, go unnoticed until they've cost several matches.
